Re: Army Carry Case Recommendations?
Niall, As per your request, here are some pics - I was mistaken on the box size, it seemed much larger in my mind...that's what she said...sorry. The box is only a little over 14" tall and a little more than 24" long and 18" wide. Ruler for scale since I didn't have a banana http://im...

Re: Army Carry Case Recommendations?
I have a large transparent box, 3x3 ($15), a piece of plywood I cut up in two sections($8), a 1" dowel I cut up into 5" lengths to act as legs/supports between each level($4), screws to secure the dowels and cheap cupboard pulls to lift the section out of the box($4). I secured a large pie...

Re: Boosting IoB?
As a person who just spent the last six months painting 15 reavers and 10 silverhelms, I feel your pain about painting them up. I'd bite the bullet though and eBay more reavers and SH now before they become even more rare/expensive. In the mean time pick up more of your special troops, except SM's a...

Ruerl Your post is full of win! Great historical analysis and in depth presentation of your argument . I never considered the kinetic weight of Chainmail before and it's that kind of insight which gives your statements added credence (to me at least). Re: our book. That was a great write up Targ, and I really enjoyed your use of the MRo Challenge. I'm wondering what the deployment order of the units were? I'm looking at Eless's deployment trying to figure out how his pieces got to where they were when. Unless you deployed your Gyros early it would have been re...

I paint them separately and use some small amount of blue tack to keep the riders mounted and move them around to make sure they fit together when ranked.

Re: Zenfrozt's Painting Log - update silverhelm horses
Love the colors and theme for your army! It is redundant to say high elf and girly in the same sentence though :D The shoes on the horses is a nice touch. If you want to add just a little punch to the horses color, I'd take some nuln oil down the back quarter of the horses in the muscle line. It'll ...

Good luck on your new painting project! Since you are asking for advice I'll mention some additional comments in addition to what LA has mentioned. @Threeheadedmonkey - I got the both of them off of ebay for $20 together, so check there if you do look for them.
@Ferny - Thanks! I got them originally to make mounted characters but the phoenix idea came when I got an idea of the GW prices

@Aerender - I've made the Phoenix more vertical, the only time you see the rod right now is on the side. I'll be waiting till I'm inspired to cover the rod. @Threeheadedmonkey - thanks! The scale is between the GW eagle and the Phoenix model. I think it splits the difference pretty closely. When I h...

2500 WoC vs HE - Dragon Mage and Alith Anar
I played a game against the Warriors of Chaos last week. It was my first time using the new book and my first game against the 8th Ed. WoC. Our local store is using the Swedish comp rules at 2500 points so my opponent wanted an opportunity to try his first draft list out and see what weaknesses his ...

So it's been awhile, my desk lamp broke and had little time last month, however I have some progress! First off my Tiranoc Chariot! Pre-new book I ran my light coven naked, and most the time they were never in a unit. The only time I'd put them in is if the unit had scouts at the beginning of the game, and then in a unit of PG.

Re: Divinor's High / Wood Elves
The paint on the models is incredible and a very immersive style. I see some real cell type shading techniques and it looks great. My only comment is the static grass looks out of place. The shape is too organic for the excellent paint style. It's my aesthetic and doesn't impinge on the quality of y...

Thought that me how you did it, I appreciate the feedback. Non-acetone nail polish remover works great for fine cast as well. Just don't leave in longer than 10 minutes.

Re: A couple questions for the most brilliant of Ulthuan's artsy
Non-acetone nail polish remover will work on everything, plastics and metals and resins. If you leave them in longer than 15 minutes the plastic will start to get soft.
