I had my first two games tonight of KoW. Really enjoyed them both. Played using ogres against the undead. It was a really simple system which allowed us to get two 1000 points games finished within two hours. I'm told 2000pt is the standard so these were smaller games.

I think ogres have the best shot at running MSU in KOW. There minimum unit size is a regiment, which consists of 3 models, allows for no concessions needing o be made whilst list building. Good movement and high damage output sweeten the deal also.

We have access to all the magic items now if you look at the latest beta list as that is 99% the same as the official rules. The armylist spreadsheet also contains the full army lists, which is also available from the beta section of the mantic forum

I'm not sure what effect this will have on other companies game systems. I have been looking into KOW 2nd edition because it looks good and I own both ogres and high elves but picking up that game system doesn't benefit mantic either as I'll be using GW models and their rules for 2nd are free

Special rules don't stack. Your white Lions can only have one ASL so they will still strike at initiative

I Like the look of that dwarf formation, Gelt really boosts the stunties with his magic combined with army wide +1 armour. Imagine bubble casting scales skin! Not to mention being able to shoot twice in the first turn or using crucible to drop a horde of GW longbeards in your opponents face.

If your opponent is cheesy enough to take a tank at 1000pts just take a few Reavers or Eagles and railroad it.
