Re: The Ninth Age

Frankly, I understand most of the changes. Let's see: -Dragon Princes @ S4: the original intention, I believe, was to further differentiate them from SH (many people complained that the differences were too small). However, as they were, they might have been a bit too cheap. They may have gone way t...

Re: The Ninth Age

I disagree. Dragon Princess are far better as our own heavy cavalry and can punch far harder than Silver Helms ever could. Silver Helms are medium cavalry that powergamers reduced to delivery system for their characters. Dragon Princes (and Swordmasters) suffered more from the fact there were more ...

Re: Elves of Light - first impressions

First on, on parry: Parry can only be used if on foot, against attacks from the front. Attacks allocated at a model with parry suffer a -1 penalty when rolling To Hit, which cannot be combined with any other negative to hit modifiers. From what I'm reading, it doesn't specify "close combat"...

Re: Welcome to the 9th Age

Depends on who's given access to flails. Gotta say, though, I thought the same.

I'm quite liking the rules in general. There are a bunch of gems there. I quite like champions allowing the unit to charge a minimum of 4, for example.

Re: The Ninth Age

I've been in love with the initiative since the early pre-alpha version they issued. I quite like how they are dealing with the game, and love what they've done (for the most part, there are a bunch of things I don't quite like) with the beastmen book. I'm actually trying to give my own input whenev...

Re: Fan 9e is looking pretty good.

I rather like 9th age, and I'm following their changes with a fair bit of interest. From my understanding, the aid effect is only for dispelling. I quite liked it, it makes taking multiple small wizards viable, at least from a defensive point of view. Taking a lord level mage is less mandatory that ...

Re: Would you use Game/Player finder App?

Damn right I'd use it, and wouldn't mind paying as well. Of course, it depends on how many people would use it, though. I personally would go for a mixed approach: something like the basic features (find players nearby and basic filters and such) for free, and include other features, such as, say, s...

This High Elf (no, not Asur anymore. I renounced that name after the Betrayal) will remain with anyone else longing for the better ages.

WHFB has had 8 editions- and I've got a lifetime to play all of them. No need for Sigmarineland.

Overrunning issues

I'm quite sure this is fairly easy to answer and I'm just being dense, but I'd like some help clarifying some things, all of them related to the overrun / pursue maneuvers: In the following case, the rightmost unit is overruning after a combined fight. In this fight, due to having a larger frontage ...

I know that he has attuned to magic rule, but as I said, no more witness of destiny, which is hilarious to me, how GW is pplaying with fluff, rules and everything. To be fair, that's the most sensible part of the deal. I mean, witness to destiny was the rule granted by Ass-uryan foresight and bless...

Re: ET Archaon [SPOILERS!!!]

This is the worst story telling I have read in a long, long time. Doesn't matter. Malekith died in such a pitiful way that it makes everything worthwhile again. Should that line be true and the actual book doesn't botch it, Malekith essentially dies unloved and in pain after: 1- Only managing to ac...

Caradruan has no more witness of destiny rule. And his frost phoenix is now fire phoenix, omg...xD He does have attuned to magic though, so has a 5+ ward that can become a 4+. As well as 7 S6 attacks doing D3 wounds! I think he is a pretty solid character now for sure. And loremaster of fire at lvl...

Re: Etc draft 3 - HEs kicked in the groin

I can't really say much, because I do not participate in the ETC tournament itself, and my lists tend to hover around 1-3 choices under the hardest comps when I play ETC battles (RBTs, sometimes 3+ mounted characters, and now and then a star dragon). But as other people have said before it doesn't m...

I tend to read all these and not comment because I really have nothing to add: I play mostly against VC, DoC and WoC (and by mostly I mean 9/10 of my battles are against those). Re: Reworking Elves ASF

In my experience, people who don't like High Elves think they are overpowered because of the bird, the book and the banner (Frostheart Phoenix, Book of Hoeth, Banner of the World Dragon). Especially the banner. I've never heard anyone complain about ASF personally. I tried googleing 'elves ASF over...
